Buying off CL is awesome, I may be picking this tank up :)
    Reef Ready 55g glass tank
I don't know about selling, I've seen some ad's that were on reef forums too. For some reason the prices were higher :huh2:

CL is CL free to anyone and there is no fee to list stuff so its good for what it is.

SW is not apreciated by anyone outside the hobby, and that is probably why there are more low ball offers than not.

I listed a few boost led bulbs for a guy at work he wanted $50.00 per bulb, had a guy call and ask kif 20 a bulb would work and of course I said no, so he decides to try and curse me out over the phone because it was to high LOL.

I feel you pain and hope you get it sold for what you want

I think the key to Craigslist is to be patient. Someone will come along. It took 3 months to sell my complete 90 setup, but I finally found someone, and he
    paid full asking price.

at least you get offers even if they are crappy I have been trying to sell a tank for 4 months with no luck or offers, I even posted in barter section just to see if I can get any bites. I guess I do live away from any major city but an offer would be nice even if its a low ball.

The problem us many people just happen upon tanks and dint want them so they sell them for dirt cheap. You always have to compete with that and you can never expect to actually sell something for what your asking. People simply search for the best deal and I can understand it gets frustrating but many people, actually most don't understand the value if such a tank so you can't really expect to sell it for it's value. You know you had it the right price once it's sold that's what I say. And can you really blame them for asking? I once offered a guy 50 bucks for a reef ready 100 gallon acrylic tank and he accepted.

Just a game you have to play lol I paid 300 for my nano cube on there right but a year before I got a 125 for 65 bucks so you gotta try. If the right person is looking they will pay.

well this tank is sold. He did call this morning and offer me a lower price and I did accept it. It was a little lower than i wanted to go for it, but it is better than what most people were offering. Plus my parents wanted it gone! Just one more tank to go!

Bartering is something I stink at. I dont even think to ask for a lower price. Might have to try that next time!

I'm in sales and a good rule to remember is your first loss is your best loss. Nice job selling the tank! ... as far as bartering ... I like to use a tactic I've coined the "fish hook" .... Guy offers you something less just say " I really appreciate the offer but I can't sell it to you for that, it's ok." If he says anything else than "no" ... start reeling ...
