In a real scale on 1-10 how difficult is glass drilling? I would like to do it to save money, but dont want to risk a broken tank?

Depends on the type of glass. If it is tempered glass it would be 1,000,000 on the scale... You can't drill it without it bursting into tiny pieces.

I would just take it to a glass shop. It can't be that expensive to have one drilled, and if they mess it up its their problem.

Exactly +500. Most glass shops will charge you about $10 a hole.

The glass shops around here want to charge $25 a hole plus they said they are not responsible if it breaks. My glass is not tempered so im ok there.

Where is it that a glass shop will drill for $10 a hole? Im a little jealous of that.

Wow, how many glass shops did you check with? Around here it was between $8 and $15 a hole, but I guess that just really depends.
But a shop of any type, any where, not guaranteeing their work is just asinine

Yeah I live in Tuscaloosa, AL most of the business owners around here are a little "backwoods" in a sense of customer satisfaction and service. Our 2 LFS here suck too its a bad deal all around. Maybe Ill try birmingham which is 45 min away..

Call around. Even at $25 though its probably worth it to have them drill it. If you only need a couple holes the drill bits will likely run you more than having the holes drilled for you.
