Purchasing my first Marine tank in the coming weeks.
I'll no doubt have lots of questions going forward.

    Welcome to 3Reef!

Do some research BEFORE you buy if possible. Start out with the current trends, it will save you alot of money, especially if the LFS= local fish store, tries to sell you some outdated types of equipment- and some do.

Welcome to 3 reef! It's a great place to come for advice and fun. Have you been looking around much yet? Don't want to bore you with details if you've already done you're homework. One bit i will say is if you're about to buy equipment/tank check out Craigs list. For some reason tanks don't hold their value once they walk out the door so you can get sometimes a full set up for half the cost brand new. I could have started out with a 100+ for the money I spent originally. Lesson learned! Anyway, start a build thread, let us know what you're planning, and any help you may need.

Welcome. Any questions, just ask. I recommend looking into buying a tank that is "drilled"
