I am in such a bad mood now because of my tank. Anyone had those days were you just want to tare it down? well i am. Im looking on youtube at LA fish guys. some of the tanks on that are AMAZING. and then i look at my tank and it is crap. I am frusterated with the sump and i just took every piece of LR out and tried to start my rockwork over again but it just looks horrible now. Hopefully when i wake up tomorrow ill be refreshed and ready to rebuild my tank ): Right now though i just want to scream. And then i look at my dads 40 g and just get even more mad ha I guess ill try to get my mind off of it for now...

haha i know how you feel...i wish i had the $ to have someone come in & redo everything professionally then it would look amazing perhaps but then again you dont get the satisfaction of the work you have done and the knowledge you gain along the way. I just try to brush it out until the next day cause some days it seems like my tanks is wrong in everyway and other days it is perfectly fine to me but just be patient cause it takes time

I think i started a trend with these "venting" threads lol i've seen like five in two days! Thats exactly how i feel. Yesterday I seriously considered tearing it all down and starting over. Then i looked at my checking account and realized that my tank wasn't THAT bad :) Good luck!

i think the stress of school is also a factor. recently i just havent had any desire to go to school. I kinda just want to be an adult right now. Not the age, but be able to be a few minutes late to work. Not get a detention every time im late. To be able to go to an office and do my own work. Not stuff teachers assign. My brother is in college and just finished his year on the deans list with a 3.7 i just wish i could be there... and have the money to get all new rock and hire someone to assemble the tank. My dad owns a business and im shadowing one of his employees for 2 days (its a school assignment to find anyone you want to shadow for two days. to follow them around for 2 days and see what its like doing their job). There job is basically to drive/fly everywhere and try to sell products to different city's. I truly wish i could do that now. I think im going to Orlando with one of his employees for the 2 days.

yup & then just when you think everything is fine the smallest thing triggers something in your mind and you starting thinking about what you can do and start researching everything on this wonderful forum and want to buy stuff left and right to make your tank like the ones the LA fish guys have

Exactly..I was thinking back today on my first 10 gallon tank..My stupid amateur self bought an anemone and a clown 3 weeks after setup..somehow they survived 5 months until the powerhead sucked up mr. anemone..I had one piece of live rock..the nem..and the clownfish..but i loved that tank! It didn't look amazing by any means..but it was mine!

Yep, I can relate. I took over an established tank with no knowledge of this hobby, patience was a must but I had to cram info in so I didn't lose too many inhabitants along the way. Just remembering that it takes time to create a reef environment and that I'm gonna have issues at times trying to keep that environment in a glass container helps me relax a bit.
