So i was on a business trip yesterday. I go in to say hi to the president and hes got a new RedSea tank behind his desk... honestely im not sure how long it has been set up - but he says that he "just got it"

So i ask to take a closer look. Lookin around in it and i have to say he really did a beautiful job with the rocks and everything.

Its fully stocked with coral already LPS/SPS. Bunch of fish from a nice purple tang to a mandarin.

No algea to be seen anywhere. No Cuc.

I just dont get it... Doesnt feed pods but the mandarin seemed to be flourishing.

    Luck i guess?

But man is that redsea system nice... silent, fully contained....timers switches lights...the whole shabang in a nice package

All said and done though i like my tank and my plywood alot better because of how much work ive put into it late into the night

The answer is probably "just got it". It takes a while for mandarins to starve so if he still has that fish in there looking healthy in 6-9 months he may have learned to feed it pods, or has got it accepting prepared food.

It's really easy to have an awesome looking tank right after the cycle, maintaining it long term is the real indicator of success IMO.
