someone had to. :) Shame they only come out at night though, stars are cool, but they hide a lot. When we first started carrying them I figured "well, they live in rock work, so I should put some rock in the holding tanks so they feel at home". EVer try to fish out a starfish when you have to from a rock nook? :) We don't do it that way anymore. :)

they stay about that size. About as big as your hand. They don't eat much, in a 55? No sweat they will be fine. I rate 1 serpent star as 3-4 nassarius vibex.

If he added them in already they are gone. An arm or leg every now and then unless they get really hungry. Serpent stars are very shy. Then one day when you don't have your camera they pop out in broad "daylight", and then they disappear again.

normal, yes. do you have a canopy? For the first month or so, I would check behind the tank at least daily to pick up escapee nerites... it's as if they learn though... after a few months it quit happening... weird

lol i got a brittle starfish a few years ago and he was losing an arm. it just disintigrated to the base and never grew back, over the next couple of years he lost all but one arm, and in the last year or so grew them all back, but his one original arm is 13" long. its crazy. Also john, ill be ording from you soon, it seems 90 percent of any CuC site sings nothing but your praises and im excited!
