Also, my toadstool seems to close up like that mutliple times weekly and shed its skin.... I feel like this is too often.

lastly, provided a pic of my favorite, the watchman goby.

 

Yes on the halimeda, move the toadstool to higher flow it will shed less often. it is getting detritus and algae off of itself.
