I started my tank about a little over a month ago and I can't really tell you when the cloudiness started to happen. At first I thought it was normal so I let everything go but then I realized that it isn't normal when seeing other tanks that looks sooo much better than my own. I went through my tanks "Life Diary Picture Book" lol and the only change I can see is that I added the Koralia 3 into the mix and that is when the cloudiness began.

So around three days ago I pop that SOB out of my tank and also turn off the Koralia 1. Well three days later it still looks cloudy, not showing any signs of clearing up and I can't find a solution. Not from my LFS and no one has responded on my actual thread for my fish tank.

Also I changed my filter pad twice in the last week just to make sure that wasn't it.

Please 3reef save me from this cloud that is taking over my tank!

Based on the age of the tank, probably is a bacteria bloom. If so, this is not so uncommon and will go away once bacteria populations reach their equilibrium for your tank. Could be days or could be a month. Patience is the key.

Your tank is cycling. What are you using for the cycle? I take it that is "live" rock? Add some live bacteria at twice the marine dose, wait 3 days and add the regular dose. You could (and I think should) add a little more live rock. Do your weekly testing for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and Phosphate. Let us know what they are.

I'm going on week 5 so are you sure this is still part of the cycle? I had a 14 pound piece of rock out so I could break it apart and clean the GHA off of it when I took the pics.

See the thing is I thought Algae Bloom also but then I look on my rocks and on my filter and it looks like sand and dust collect over time and not just a little bit. Also you can see the particles that look like sand or dust just floating around the tank.

Someone told me I could do major water changes and that would clear it up?
