It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You are not seeing any nitrates at all ?

Did you use fully cured LR ?

Give the tank some time, it is far too early to add a cuc. Patience is hard with this hobby but it is the key to long term success IMO.

First, you don't actually see signs of a cycle for a little while, usually a few days. Do you have an ammonia test kit that you didn't mention?

Second, did you add in something to actually start the cycle? A piece of shrimp, some fish food, etc? If you didn't you need to do that before you can actually have a cycle start

blackraven is right you are probably not going to see anything. If you used dry rock you are definitely not going to see anything for awhile. I agree try a small piece of shrimp for a day or two. Ammonia is a bi-product of metabolism, weathers it is bacteria eating dead meat, or die off of live rock.

And yes I have heard the urine thing, and since it is a bi-product of metabolism it will work.

First ammonia should take a week, total cycle is 4 to 6 weeks. Then a clean up crew. Be patient.

Please don't pee in your tank. Aquarium people sometimes get a bad rap as it is... Lol :)

Just wait a bit, I didn't see ammonia for 3 days and I used a lot of LR.
