Hi, I just starting my research into what I hope will be a great hobbie. I'm looking at kits to start with. Any comment on the kits out there, example: Red Sea Max, Current USA and JBL?

If I may offer an ideal piece of advice!
I would do some reading and familiarize yourself with various types of equipment, price, time involved, species selection(husbandry, compatibility, etc.)and availability, what type of tank you wish to replicate, water parameters, testing and problem solving techniques and recognition just to name a few.
I am not trying to scare you or make you change your mind! Quite the contrary, I want you to succeed, accomplish the best results and enjoy the hobby to its fullest for years to come.
Go slow and read and research before hand to avoid failure and excess monetary expenditures that you ultimately don't need to!
    Best of luck!

Figuring out what you hope to keep before you get started helps a lot! Then you kind of know what to look for when you are shopping around.

I was just in your shoes, I would recommend buying a good book or marine aquariums, that helped me out a lot. It helped me figure out what each piece of equipment did, what you actually need and what are things that can be considered extras if you have the money. Good luck!
