I just uploaded some new pics of my 55 gallon setup...

So far thats all I was able to get...I'm gonna take off the canopy and take some pictures of that when I get a chance.

I have had the tank up and running for about a week and my clowns still seem to be hiding down in that corner behind the magnet cleaner and under the powerhead...any ideas why? I would think that by now they would be comfortable and try swimming around a little bit.

    Mirosh:

How is your Remora AquaC working for you? If you upgrade the pump it will work much better. All you need to get is a pump and a section of clear tubing and its easy to upgrade. All you need is a ViaAqua 306 526 GPH pump that costs 15 bucks and a 3 inch section of clear tubing. It is such a easy inexpensive upgrade I recomend anyone who has this skimmer do it. It will make your skimmer rock.

Why the need for the clear tubing...i already have the Maxijet 1200 connected to the AquaC with some clear tubing that they sent me...

Why does that ViaAqua pump work so much better than the MJ?

Also, any reason why the clowns would be hanging out down in that corner of the tank still...and i dont think that they are eating too much either...i thought at first that it was just initial shock to new lighting and a new environment, but they are still acting funny!

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mirosh,

Thay are clowns, they are supposed to act funny. ;D
Seriously, they are probably still stressed. When I brought my two clowns home from the LFS, they both did exactly the same thing for about two weeks. The gradually started eating after about 3 days. But it still took about the full two weeks before thy did much exploring. Now they are all over the tank.

Mirosh, I too have the aqua c urchin, and after about 3 or 4 months I noticed that the out put was not very much anymore, and it was almost never white dryish overflow, it was always wet and green.
I took it out and washed it in vinegar, soaked it bristle brushed it and not much improvement. :(
Now that I have my turboflotor 1000 and see  what a heavy duty bubble factory that is with the ocean runner 2700 and needle wheel, I suddenly realized that the MJ1200 was so underpowered for what the urchin should be doing. So I would concur with Jay that to make it rock, you should get a bigger pump. JMHO.

Very Nice!!! ;D Try and feed the clowns something totally irresistable until they calm down...frozen mysis or live brines even, just to get them eating... ;) Are they eating at all?

They are eating enough...though they are not big fans of the mysis...only the coral banded likes the mysis...they seem to be getting a little better about leaving the corner during feeding time, so we are making progress.

The only thing they have eaten for me so far is Formula Two, but I will try some live Brine and see what the result is.

    Thanks,
    Mike
