I just lurk 95% of the time, so many of you probably don't recognize me by name.  A picture is worth scads of verbiage, though, so I finally posted some pictures in the gallery here.  I think it's looking pretty good considering it's less than 3 months old!

Here's a rundown of my tenants:

5 Azure Damsels  (I wish there were less, but can't catch 'em!)
     2 Banggia Cardinals
     1 Firefish Goby
     1 Blackcap Basslet
     1 Purple Tang
     1 Powder Brown Tang
     1 baby Hippo/Regal Tang
     2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
     3 Peppermint Shrimp
     2 Emerald Crabs
     1 Rose BTA
     1 Orange Linkia
     1 Blue Tuxedo Urchin
     Assorted snails / hermits

    Sessile:
     Sarcophyton trocheliophorum (toadstool leather)
     Euphyllia divisa (Frogspawn)
     Euphyllia ancora (Anchor Coral)
     Plerogyra sinuosa (Bubble Coral)
Plerogyra sinuosa (Octobubble or Pearl Coral)
     Favites flexuosa (Closed Brain)
     Platygyra daedalea (Maze Brain)
Caulastrea furcata (Trumpet or Candy Cane)
     Galaxea paucisepta (Galaxy ... duh!)
     3 Trachyphyllia geoffroyi (Open Brains)
Cynarina lacrymalis (Button or Meat coral)
     Various Zoanthus sociatus polyps
     Various Ricordia
     Various Discosoma mushrooms

    Thanks for looking!

I second the aquascaping. You must have spent a long time with those rocks. Looks great and everything seems happy. :)

Thanks for the compliments! I need to give credit to my friend Kevin, who helped me with the aquascaping.

Looks good!  I like a good LPS tank every once in awhile. [smiley=afro.gif]

But one thing I am going to point out.  Ron Schimek says that a sand bed needs to be atleast 6-8" to be effective.  A 4" sand bed is useless (per him not me) and anything above 8" will not work any faster than a 6" bed.  As for me, I would go BB, but again, thats me. [smiley=afro.gif]

    Mike,

Did Dr Ron change his mind? I have his book here and I am sure he suggested that DSB's should be 4inches as a minimum

There may be a lot of factors on what is an effective depth for a DSB. One I can conclude quickly from my reading has to do with the grain size of the sand and the uniformity of the grain size. My LFS guy here in Jakarta with the LS that he provides says that with his sand 2-3 inches is what he reccomends. He sets up and maintains tanks commercially as a hobby in the city.

Dude, nice tank. So, the "striped bubble" is a Plerogyra sinuosa (Bubble Coral)? Thanks, mine now has a name. Here they call these Modern corals. Have to take a better look at what you have, may be able to put a Latin name to my metalic green Donut coral.

    Cheers,
    Ray
