    Actually, the only mantis shrimp that is powerful enough to break/shatter aquarium glass is the Peacock Mantis. They are, by far, the largest of the mantis species to my knowledge, and are quite popular as pets. Only a fully grown 6" or above Peacock can break aquarium glass. My mantis is a small Caribbean rock mantis, and will grow to around 3"-4", no more. Right now she's about 1.25-1.5 inches long, and has no prayer of breaking the glass. No rain on my parade :)

    A rare sighting - Orca (damsel) and Princess (mantis shrimp) together in the front of the tank. Not the best picture, but I had to grab the camera and snap it quick. The things I do while I'm working....

    Their are larger mantis species however they are spearers and not common in the aquarium trade.
