So, what do you think this is? For a size reference there is the 3"+ clowns, and the pretty beefy frags in the front of the tank. I would say its a little bigger than a bowling ball.

    Bama got it! K+

Dam, plate coral was my third guess at the store. I couldn't get over the size of this thing . . . and they had 2 of them! At first I thought it was some funky anemone or a REALLY nice torch. I might have to go pick this thing up, it was only $40!!

I was in between job interviews when I saw this, and a half hour from home. If I was on the way home this would have definitely justified eating top ramen for lunch all week to get this thing into the budget.

I would have guessed a torch.... but it threm me off a bit cause its so close to the sand bed. I know torches dont lay flat like that. They branch.

I would suggest you read up on long tentacled plates (Heliofungia) before you do, they've had a bad history of not doing well in aquariums. Maybe it's changed but AFAIK they don't do well long term (over a year maybe) so I would check and make sure you know what their requirements are because it's not the same as fungia for sure.
