I am considering adding Kaudern's Cardinalfish to my system. I know they prefer to stay in groups, but I'm not sure what will happen with my bio-load.

    Current fish stock:
    Oc. Clown x2 (4")
    Green Clown Goby (1")
    Pink Spotted Watchman Goby (3")
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse (coming soon) (3")

According to aqadvisor.com adding 3 Kauderns would put my stocking at %70 of capacity. But that site is experimental and I just wanted to some real feedback.

I know have room for 1, could probably get away with 2, but not sure about 3.

What do you think? I have a 40b mixed reef with swimming room.

As adults, they only do well in pairs or singly. I started with four babies, and recently had to sell two because of increased aggression. They grow very fast, and eat a lot of food. IMO, if you got two, you would be closer to 100% sooner than you would think. They are very cool fish. They would be a good addition to your tank.

I think 3 Kauderns would put your bioload at the absolute highest your tank could handle. But, you could do it with good skimming and water changes.
Your tank is looking great by the way 8)

Thanks JJL and barbianj, I think I'll try to find a small pair and keep it at just those 2.

It's still going to be a while, because I still need to get my nitrates down further and I still have that wrasse to add as well. Thanks to you both for your helping me plan things out.

Good choice  . I think a pair of those in your tank would look awesome.

I found a couple a really nice cardinals at a local fish store, only to find out that they were wild caught. :(

    The search continues.
