so ive seen it done many times and in smaller tanks than mine in that case but im guessing the hippo needs to be introduced first but because its too completly different familys would there be any issue if i put the hippo tang in maybe a week before my kole tang( i have the kole already in my small tank(55g)

I would add them together if possible, but either way it shouldn't be a problem. I would put the Kole as the less aggressive of the two so if you had to add one first I would go with that.

I would not put the hippo tang in there at all
    they grow pretty quick
I know others do it, but most people do not report their failures

Tang dies inside 6 months - keep silent about it is the general behaviour IMHO
So we only see people with tangs that are alive in these smaller tanks posted, so we may believe that despite all the recomendations on tank sizes, that in reality its fine to have them in smaller tanks

in reality most of these threads go off the radar, or go silent for months in the hope members do not remember they had a tang at one time, thats not there anymore.

    I might put a Kole tang in a 55
but saying that I have not got one in my 5ft 75 gallons of water, it would be a 90 if there was no rock in there) thus far, considering it, but not sure the tank is large enough to be honest

    just my opinion

better to keep a fish suitable for the tank size you have now

I have a kole and hippo in my 75g no problems at all. My kole chases my bicolor blenny and my hippo thinks its a clownfish

hippos are great personalities to have in the tank same with algae blennies i like how they perch out of the rock and try not to move at all cool little fish,im going to be getting a show quality hippo tang in the next month and the koles really shy i think thell be fine together im doing my rockwork so that they have plenty of room to swim i had a naso in this tank at one point obviously not fully grown but she was great never bothered a thing always was happy hand fed also so its hard to believe a fish of a similar size wouldent do well im buying at around 5 to 7 inchs which ive found is the hippos tangs kind of grow spur period and than the growth drops off after a while so eventually shell have a bigger home
