I have a friend that is shutting down his 210 tank. He has 300+ lbs of live rock that he has offered to give me. I'm happy with the rock in my 40g tank but I plan of setting up a 90g reef in about 3 months (when I move from my apartment to a house). My question is how can take advantage of a free 90+lbs of rock without setting up my 90g yet? I have a 20L that I could put all of the rock in. What would I need? A heater, circulation pump and correct salinity. Do I need to have a light at all? And if I do need light would standard t8 6500k florescent cut it?

I believe you answered your own question =).
You may need some light if you have some corals on the rock that you want to keep alive, but I would probably just do exactly as you described above if not.
You will need a heater and a pump for circulation and 1.026 SG or so.
A lot of people throw live rock in a big trash can to cure for a couple of months with no light at all which is what I would do in this situation.

i'd skip the light. you want regulated temp, some flow, and SG. if you go trash can route, mark the water line. you'll need to do top offs here too (not as regularly though)
