I am 100% sure he is NOT spitting out the Hikari Blood Worms, his favorite. He eats 5-7 of these a day. If I mix the Nutramar in with the blood worms and he knows it, then he gets finicky. I do the same by adding Rods Fish Only to the blood worms, he gets finicky. If it's just the blood worms he goes after them with gusto. Ingredients: blood worms, water, beta carotene, vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), l-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate (stabilized vitamin C), riboflavin, thiamine mono-nitrate, biotin, choline chloride, folic acid, pantothenic acid, inositol, niacin.
My fuge and tank both have plenty of pods. Enough for him to eat besides the prepared. So I am at a loss......

I personally did not QT Dilly. Coming from where he did, I found no reason to do so. He went right from the breeders tank into mine. I've not treated my tank with Prazi Pro, again I've had no reason to do so.

I completely agree here. And in Nana's defense, the later is something I considered (and still can't say it's impossible).

However, the issue at heart here really is which of those two options is going on. If it's the former, that's a difficult situation to remedy under these circumstances.

After more thought, I don't believe that your fish is getting it's complete nutrition from the bloodworms. That's the one big variable that I see. I tried looking up HUFA for them, but didn't find much info on that brand. That's something to look into. Your fish needs a more varied diet, or supplementation to what it is missing.

How is dilly doing? Red baron is three months now in my tank and still swimming strong and eating rods food with pumps off still shy but alive and still beautiful.

These fish can take months to starve to death .4 months is not all that long so I would hold off on the cartwheels for now.The odds are against you unfortunately.

I believe because of the controversial nature of this thread the original poster has stopped contributing and understandably so.

While it has proven to be an educational thread with many differing opinions it also inflames some hobbyist passions and rightfully so.

For now I will close the thread and if Nanareefer would like me to open it again I will gladly do so, but for now it's closed.
