Has anyone ever tried or knows someone who has tried keeping a shark in their reef tank?
Like a bamboo shark or some other smaller species

To be honest, there really are no species of shark that will live comfortably in anything smaller than 300 gals, and that's with the tank aquascaped for sharks in mind (they tend to get caught easily between rocks, etc). I know there are peeps who keep sharks in smaller tanks, but just because you can survive in a phone booth doesn't mean you should.

Also, sharks present a huge bioload on tanks, and this is counterproductive to the pristine conditions most reefers shoot for.

Yeah I should probably clarify.. I was trying to ask if you know anyone who keeps them in the correct conditions

I in no way support the idea of keeping even smaller species of sharks in small tanks just for personal gain.

Thanks for the clarification. It's hard to know where a person is in the hobby in terms of experience, but there are a lot of novices who have all these critters that excite them, but get bad advice.
