Just wondering if anybody has done this successfully. Obviously, I am referring only to Dwarf Angels. I have a Coral Beauty right now, and went the LFS and saw a nice looking Potter's Angel. I had never considered keeping two angels because it is recommended to not do so. Any species that would be better suited than others?

    Or....no go?

depends how lucky you are. Ive got a buddy with a coral beauty, flam angel and a bi color all in the same 125 gallon. They get along great. But most of the time its not so.

There are some people who have kept two angels in relatively smaller tanks, such as a 55. However, those success stories are few and far between. The usual ending is that one fish ends up dying. You can take a chance if you want, but that's really up to you.

angels are really active and pretty aggressive, so I would be worried about keeping two in 55 gallons.

I will also agree that it is probably not a good idea. I wanted to put 2 in my 150 and my very trusted LFS said that we could try if we wanted, but we had to put them in at the same time. He also said that he would not recommend it. I took his advice - he has over 20 years experience. Very happy with just my coral beauty.

It depends. Is your current Coral Beauty a male or female?(most likely male if it's been in the tank for a while.) How big is it? Is it currently aggressive towards other tank mates? Pairing or adding two centropyge into one tank isn't always impossible like some people like to make it sound, you just have to get the right specimens. If your current Coral Beauty is a large male the next centropyge you add will HAVE to be a small female, it's the only way the male will accept it. In nature there are actually some hybrids that occur between Coral Beauties and Potter Angels so it is NOT impossible you just have to get the right specimen. :)

    Thanks for the replies everybody.

The Coral Beauty is a male and is 2 inches long at the most. Hasn't been aggressive towards anything else in the tank...this is the reason that I was contemplating it, he is very well behaved. The Potter's angel is a little smaller then the CB.

I may give it a try. I'm trying to remove some damsels right now so I will wait til I get them out. Then maybe move around some of the rock right before I introduce the Potter's.
