    ok, i bought some second hand joblot off ebay auction,

    in it was the 2 part by kent, to me it looks exactly like water, never bought it before, what should it look like, i may need to kick up a fuss

    It should look like water but you may be wise to dump it if there is some question as to its content.

    It has no smell either, is there anyway I can tell besides tasting it, not that i'm gonna lol

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Did it come in kent packaging? I have used it and really like it. Take a glass of display water test ca, then add part A and retest calcium. Add part b to the same glass, you should see a momentary clouding of the water, test the alk before you add it and retest afterwards. Both products are clear and odorless.

    I took 200ml of tank water tested calcium it was 380ppm, alk 6ppm
    low i know, im in the process of sorting it, added 1tsp of part a
    Tested calcium off the scale no reading past 500ppm so think this is good, added part b water went cloudy, i take it its the real deal, they are both full, ionically balanced it says
    so i will raise my mag from 1200ppm first to 1350 then add part a and b testing daily until calcium reaches 450ppm and alk 9-12ish
