    The thing about tap though is the silicates. Before I figured it out every time I did a water change I had a huge diatom bloom. I would personally stay away and go find a place that sells RO. I pay 50 cents a gallon and its well worth it. ( I only have a 24 g tank though haha)

    Yes,
    RO = Reverse Osmosis
    RO/DI = Reverse Osmosis/De-Ionized

    Water quality varies greatly from region to region. Many areas have high levels of silicates, phosphates, Iron, nitrates, nitrites, sulphates, etc. That is why you will see people recommend use of RO or RO/DI water.
