I've had a large Kenya tree for @2 years. After cleaning the tank a few days ago (13 gallon Nano) the tree has not opened up again and is purple. I have other trees in the tank that look great. Could its lifespan be over?

Could it be dropping it's branches? I've read they will droop over and drop branches. Also is it's stump brown on the bottom?

Hmmmm. Looks like it just a little stressed to me. I don't know what to think about the coloration of the stump, but the rest of it looks OK. Not great. But OK. Mine goes though phases like this when it gets mad.

I would just watch the stump. If it keeps looking worse perhaps you should frag it? I'm not an expert so someone with more experience would be better suited to advise on that.

If it was dead it would be like "melting" away. Let it sit for a few more days and see what happens.
