Hey guys I dont have a picture at the moment but will get one soon, I have a kenya tree that I got as my first coral for $5 and in the day time its huge! And looks super healthy good color, and shape etc. but when my lunar lights turn on after about 1/2 hour it looks like mushy if that makes sense, like its sulking kind of. it eventually closes like it should but during the process looks a little ill. is this normal? should I be concerned? My ammonia levels are super low, my nitrates a less then 5 ppm and nitrites are less then 5 ppm also, my ph is stable between 8.2 and 8.3 anything to be worried about?

I hope that's a typo or a misreading... ammonia and nitrite must stay at absolute zero at all times.

To answer your question, I would think it's perfectly normal, especially if it opens fully during the day. I had a colt leather that done the same exact thing for the whole 3 years I had it before I sold the tank.

well I'm not sure how your supposed to keep nitrites at complete 0 when tap water itself can have nitrites in it. and the ammonia levels are super low the color is almost not visible on the test strip so i'd say its nearly 0 and my nitrites again less then 5ppm which is the lowest the test kit reads, and the color again is barely visible so near 0 and this is how it comes out of the tap. all of my other corals are fine, just my kenya seems not to like my lunar lighting.

Thats one of the reasons that you shouldn't really use tap water. :(

    +1 110%

Even dissolved minerals can create an imbalance in the water chemistry. In today's world, RO/DI filtration is a must.

Most important elements of a fish tank:
    Water
    Tank
    Stand
These are not the the places to try to save money.
