hey guys, i just traded a button polyp for a Kenya tree, and noticed the bottom of the coral was brown and somewhat shriveled. i am not sure if this is normal or if it is dying. if it is dying is there any way to save it?
it doesnt seem to be doing bad other than that. it is full and perky.
Also i feed all my other corals live brine shrimp every other day.would the Kenya eat it to?

    heres a pic of it

Its fine. They shrivel from time to time. It will pick up any food in the water column but doesn't need to be fed.8)

thanks i was worried cause i saw my friends nem die like that. I have done a lot of research and realize that none of the corals i have need to be fed, although i have read that brine shrimp give some pigment. i don't know if this is true but i like hatching brine shrimp, and i am able to give a few bottles of them to friends.

hatching them is really easy, if you buy one of the hatcheries. i just use aquarium water, hook up the air pump and dump in some eggs in. 24 hours later i have billions of tiny coral snacks.

This is funny, because I have thrown kenya in the trash changed my mind 16hrs later put them back in the tank and it still lives today! Kenyas are a weed in this hobby, beware of placement near other rocks and flow because they will jump.

^ I agree, I literally started out with one frag of it, and it grew into a forest within months, I ripped every one I couldnt sell off of the rocks and to this day I still have them popping up. they can grow back from even the smallest fraction left kind of like a bascteria, if only one cell is left they will reproduce untill millions of them are left.
