I have a mature kenya tree colony about 2 years old.

I have fragged it many times and fragged from its frags. Last 3 weeks it doesnt open more then 10%.... I relocated in the tank. When I ran my finger between the coral thin coat of something slide off... I did this for a few mins and took away some slime coating which I hope was the right move.

The base is pretty thick and no slime on it. I dont think its dead but I dont think its very healthy...

    Whats the issue.

    Water paarams are all good.
New skimmer still working hard to pull stuff out. good flow good light. I have 3 other kenya trees in my tank 1 colony and 2 large frags. They both are ok...

    help?

Mine do the same thing! I may have to do with its natural ability to remove detritus, algae, pathogens and bacteria fom it! It could also possibly be harnessing the mucus for food and nutrient needs. This mucus will eventually come off and the Kenyon Tree will be fine.
