I always thought this was a Kenyan Tree Coral, but it looks a bit different than most of the pics I've seen online. What do you think?

The first picture is from when I bought it. I think it was bleached. The second picture is current.

It is definitely from the nephthea family. And it is one of the tree or pineapple corals.

    I would google tree corals

    It is probably a Dendronephthea.

It comes from studying your potential purchases. Always a good thing to do so you can decide if can or are willing to meet the needs of your potential purchase.

Are there different varieties within kenyan tree corals? Some of the pictures look the same and some look quite different. I think that's why I started doubting that I actually knew what it was. Or should knowing that it's a tree coral be good enough?

It would be good to ID it as close as you can because some of them are much harder to keep alive than others. If you have had it for a while I would say what ever you are doing is right for the coral.
