Kevin3884's Coral Growth

Hey guys, I was looking through some of my old pictures, and i thought it was kind of neat to see the growth my corals have taken over the past almost year. Hope you enjoy I will try to keep posting pictures of then and nows as I get more and more corals.

First coral comparison is my Candy Canes..the first pic of of when I first picked up the colony... The next pic is of the "mother colony" now I have since fragged it twice to start colonies elsewhere in the tank which are the last 2 pics. ;D

 

Next up is my Pink Star Polyps..I got this rock for $15...when I brought it home there was a little tiny piece of flesh (probably 6 polyps on it total) that I cut away and rubberbanded to a rock on the other side of the tank...The first pic if of the "Mother Rock" when I first got it, the second is of the "Mother Rock" now. The third is of where I put the tiny 6 polyp frag!

 

Next up is my Favia that I got for free because some guy said "he didnt think it was going to make it"....it did look pitiful, and has been a slower grower, but its less than a year now, and I made a hole in a rock last week trying to get it to take hold for faster growing, but it DID make it

 

Next up we have my Colt Coral...This was a little $10 frag I picked up from the LFS...it has really grown UP

 

Here we have my Aussie Acan Colony at first...and now this thing I swear pops up a new head once a week..I need to frag it, but just havent got the guts to do it yet

those acans really took off lol. how many heads now? and that orange monti is developing a pretty growth pattern

 

Not too shabby..

 

I cant even count all of the heads...i'm guessing around 30...i placed it on a very porous rock a few days ago hoping they will branch out to it, instead of growing into a ball...which will make it easier to frag....the Monti is growing so fast..can't wait to see where it goes from here
