    100th Post

I thought the 100th post on this thread should appropriately be the tank up and running...i only have half the lights on because I'm still waiting for my 2nd Purple Plus bulb to come in :)

Here is a pic of the heart of the tank up and running....I'm not skimming yet so the skimmer is turned off. As you can see I have QUITE the Mangrove Forest in the fuge....I am going to also grow chaeto and caulerpa in there too...may need to ditch some trees to do so..lol. The back blue drum is fresh ro/di top off water, the front blue drum is/will be saltwater for water changes and such....the bench opens and is holding all my salt and extra stuff...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you mentioned a while back you had a preditor tank. Is this tank going to be a preditor tank as well?

Congrats on getting the water in it.

    Those mangroves sure look healthy.

I had a Predator tank at one time...but I found homes for those fish, and sold the tank and equipment on CL....this is going to be my reef eventually...and I will be moving the inhabitants of my 125G reef to this 265G and then breaking down my 125G and selling it too...one huge tank is plenty :) lol (or not..but its all my wife will let me have)....for now... lol

Well...believe it or not...this tank cycled in about 2.5wks....confirmed it with the LFS just in case my tests were wrong for some reason....guess it was the cycled sand, and the about 80G of cycled water i used to start it up...I am STILL skeptical, but I decided to put some green chromis in and a goby, just to "test the waters" no pun intended..I also put a few candycanes in 2 days ago and they are doing great...my nitrates are a little high but, I will be doing a 55G water change in a day or 2.... here are some pics...also the tank is nearly DEAD silent now :)

Congrats on the quick cycle hopefully, the adds and near silence. Sounds like a real nice combination of events.
