I run a good skimmer. No GAC or GFO. I feel my tank is clear except when I don't clean the glass.

GAC! For the most part does the same thing as a skimmer, but better. Skimmers are cheaper in the long run, but on a small tank, it doesn't matter, GAC is not that expensive.

The water on my tanks was/is never 100% clear. I mean it's beautiful and well kept but I always have a bit of "marine snow" but my tank is happy.

make sure your poweheads/returns aren't kicking up tiny debris, I know my tank became more clear after my sand had matured & settled. I also run a 200 micron filter sock in my sump that I change out weekly, I know that def helps.
