It will start to snow calcium in your tank with high KH and CAL.

If you're going to try and keep a high KH/Cal, be sure to keep Magnesium up as well, as that *HELPS* but won't entirely prevent precipitation of Calcium out of solution.

High KH/Cal will tend to cause precipitation, especially around warmer areas (heaters, pumps, etc) of the aquarium, so it's really best to find a stable spot, and stick to it. If your creatures need higher, go ahead and try to raise them in balance (be sure to keep Mg balanced as well while you're doing this!! Low Mg will cause calcium storms!) until you reach a flatline, (Do I need to say this should be done slowly over a period of days/weeks?) where putting more additive in does not positively effect your KH/Cal, then back off from that flatline a bit, and call that your new target mark.

If you don't flatline before you hit your target, congrats, but many times, you won't be the controlling factor, the uncontrollable environmental factors in your tank will be.
