kH very high??

Yesterday I traded some corals in for two new koralia pumps, and got them in the tank about 15 mins before the lights kicked off. Today after the lights have been on a little while, my toadstool, xenias, and purple mushrooms have not opened up and still haven't.... I figured the new pumps and increased flow was probably the culprit to the problem but I tested water anyways. Everything was fine with the exception of calcium being high around 480 ( I think that's high) but the kH was dang near 15. I use red sea coral pro salt with ro/di water and I do buff the water before mixing new water because my lfs told me I had to keep PH where it should be. Do I need to do anything drastic fast? I have to go back to work tomorrow

 

Do a 20 to 30% water change without the buffer. I used ph buffer before with the same outcome and lost corals and invents.

Did a 30% water change... Just keep doing that til it's down?

 

That's what I would do. I was fighting with high alkalinity in my old 120 for quite a while. I think I had a wierd batch of 2 part additive. I bought a new batch and did a bunch of water changes to get it down to a reasonable level.

What is your magnesium reading?
