Got some new LR from my LFS and damn it if it's not full of Aptasia.

I was wondering if there's any way to kill it without having to inject every damn one with the juice?

There was jus a thread today about this on reef central. What he did was place it in a ten gallon tank and raise the water tamp to 94, killed them all and didnt harm the rock to much. He put it back into his tank after washing it off with saltwater with no adverse effects

I'd just take it back to the LFS for a refund.

+1 on the peppermints. Just added 4 to my tank and every single one of my aiptasia is now gone. Pretty interesting little critters too..

Make sure you get true peppermints though, it's an easy mistake and if you get the wrong thing they won't touch aiptasia!

As for the juice, I saw a guy (may of been here, actually!) post about killing off his this way. Said he made a game of it and sat there for an afternoon, sneaking up on them and injecting them. Some what satisfying haha!

+1 on the Peppermint. I had a small aiptasia outbreak and added two to the tank and now I have none. They prefer the smaller aiptasia though and not the larger pieces. A Copperband would be another good choice but without constant feedings of aiptasia many can starve in the aquarium.

ya just get peppermint shrimp they will do the job great just dont get get atleat 3-4 of them because the way they eat them is surround the aipstasia and poke it till it closes up and then eats it and if theres only one it wont be enough to get the big ones to close up. but i do have to agree killing aipstasia with joes juice or another solution is very satisfying and works almost instantley its like one minute they are there and then poof within a couple of hours they have shriveled away to nothing
