    I used it.. I paid something like $1.50 for 15 lbs.. its dirt cheap (literally) ;D

    So I JUST heard about this today too in a thread about sting rays (ray ray is awesome, I want one now!) ...

    Would bentonite clay work also? I have access to pallet loads of bentonite (used for making artificial lakes)

    no, dont use bentonite.. think of how it acts when wet.. nasty stuff, unless your stock tank has a leak in it..

    yeah, looks like regular litter (and oil spill absorbent) is mostly diotomite and zeolite, the clumping stuff is bentonite... check.

    Go to walmart...the stuff you wanna buy is the cheapest litter in a RED paper bag...i think it might be the brand Natural Kitty....but its been a long time since i bought it for my fuge...BTW its worked great.

    do you have to replace it after awhile? i thought i read that fuge mud needs replaced every so often.
    thinking about doing this as i'm redoing the whole shebang right now...

    i used the special kitty red paper bag stuff. I got mine at Aldi's for a couple bucks for the big bag. Works great!
