I got a knobby brittle sea star the day before yesterday and ever since he hasn't moved around a lot. I acclimated him over 2 hours and never exposed him to air (at least I don't think so). Since I haven't ever had one I am just wondering if this is normal behavior. The lights have been out for a few hours now and he is still in the same crevice that he got into the day before yesterday. He moves his legs about feels around a bit, but he stays stationary.

My params are fine. My salinity was a bit low yesterday, but I raised it very slowly through out the day today. My calcium is on the lower side too, but not too far off. Water change should have helped a bit. Its in the 300's. Should I be concerned?

    Thanks

nope it will come around in time. Sometimes it takes more than just a good acclimation. Some Animal's take a lil longer to adjust or maybe ya just got a lazy one.

He looks alright today, as far as I know. What should I look for in an unhealthy sea star? Should I put some food near him or something?

Still in the same spot. He ate a few pieces of shrimp I finely cut and placed near him. He moves his legs now and then feeling around, but doesn't move night or day. :S

Thaw out a cube and let him have the whole thing. Set him on top of it. I dont know why it takes him so long to adjust. I gave mine a full cube of krill and he hogged it up pretty quick. May just need some good eating to help adjust.

He is under a bit of my rock, so I can't really lift him out of there. I don't have any shrimp in there.

ive got 3 brittles. 2 of them i never see except their hairy legs. they just stay under the rocks. one will come out sometimes when i put some mysis in. i wouldnt worry evan , they find all the food they need. and grey has an excellent suggestion for a just in case kinda thing.
