knop calcium reactor

i just bought a knop c calcium reactor. it has no instructions and never used one. I have it all hooked up and running water thru the chamber , I have the water coming out at a staedy drip and the co2 at about 20-30 bubbles a minute. need to know some basics on how to know when it is set up properly. and how to hook up to controller.

 

my controller was just plug the co2 needle valve into the controller put the ph probe in the water.

i always would set mine by watching the calc levels in the tank. i would record the daily readings and adjust the co2 bpm accordingly. eventually after awhile you will zero in on the appropiate rate of calc usage

 

what do you set your on and off points for the controller and how fast do you have the water coming out? just start out slow and go from there?

 

i think my off points where 7.7 and 8.3 (just guessing i havent used it since i downgraded). if you need to calibrate it you can buy specific solutions, i was lazy just used a test kit and set the probe at that(probably very unaccurate but im lazy).

my flow rate was really very slow coming out.

also something you might not expect is your ph to rise, but mine did it was always 7.9-8 but after installing the reactor it went up too 8.2, which is opposite of what i was told to worry about

no its sitting in my back room, still useful. can uses it if i ever setup a big reef again or the co2 for a planted tank.
