Man I think I need to start checking this thing over the weekend. Lot's going on...

Well here's a Monday morning update. I'm in the process of making Saltwater. Would have been done with it had I not dumped about 20 gallons of RO water on to the basement floor. Tank is all cleaned up with vinegar and set up on the stand. Got the filter for it ready to go, got a power head and a heater waiting. Should be ready to start adding water to it tonight. I'm goign to take water out of the 180 for the 30 to make acclimation easier and just put the fresh salt water in the 180. Sound like a good idea?

While cleaning the 30 gallon I accidentally cut into the silicone with a razor blade. It didn't go all the way to the corner so hopefully I won't have any issues. The cut is close to the bottom so I should know pretty quicly if it's going to leak or not. :-/

Just fill the tank up with your 180's water and start moving stuff. No need to waste salt if you are taking the tank down, you are just adding more work.

You could if you would ever get off your butt and get a computer. Just think of all the porn you could look at.... :)

What am I going to do at work if I'm looking at that stuff at the house? ;)

Anyhow got the QT tank full of water last night. It's looking good. No leaks from where I got into the silicone while cleaning it with a razor blade.

Made a big mess in the 180 in the process. Algae everywhere.

Did notice a big problem while messing with all of this last night. It seems my ocean's motions valve has quit working on me. It's not turning. :uzi::oops::furious2::end:

I can't remember off the top of my head how much one of those is but I know it wasn't cheap. Hopefully it's just the solenoid or something. :-/

Good news is I'm about to tear down the tank so it's not super urgent. Just one more thing I'll need to buy before getting this thing going again.
