I went ahead and threw the clam out. It smelled really bad when I picked it up out of the water. Could barely move it's shell. Didn't want it rotting the in the QT tank.

I inspected the clam shell really well and the other clam as well. Nothing??? They were just sitting in a tupperware bowl full of sand because the QT tank is bare bottom.
I don't know Roger but I was just telling Scott this past weekend that I thought something might be wrong with it becasue it wasn't reacting to light changes very well and it would not close it's shell tightly.

Man that sucks Ogle. was that the blue one?? I need to try and make it over there but life has been way too crazy, we got 12 more schools to do before the first or second week of August, and just did an airport (200+ gallons of paint) in 2 1/2 days. Spending some quality time with Avery since she has been in bed before I got home the past week! Good luck with the rest of the livestock bro, keep me updated!!

Yea Bryce it was the blue one. :(
I'm definitely going to fresh water dip the other one before it goes back in the display.
I'm starting to get a little antsy about getting this 180 running full force again. I need to check and see what week the actinics can come on. At least that will give me something to look at.

You better slow down and take your time or you will be right back where you were before all of this.

    Week 8 on the actinics.

    Nice looking tank canopy Kogle,
Im the lucky one i guess i got to keep my tank open considering it's behind the wall with all the lights, etc.

ANy way sorry to hear about the clam , some times they can be finicky, with that said though Ive really never had problems with clam's , always had very good luck with them.

    More Pics needed !!!

Ok ! So finally I have just finished reading this entire thread !! wow only took like an hour. Lol ! This thing reads out like a novel ! There is the begining Excitement and hope . Then everything comes crashing down into despair. The reserection of the tank and a new outlook and faith. There is good buddies , adventure , building , football, and most importantly BEER ! ( too bad it's Budweiser ) And now the rebuilding of tank live stock and tank husbandry. Thanks again for giving me a good read on the day I played hookie from work. I am so gald you decided to stay with the hobby. As for me I looooove it and can tell you do too. Just got alotta frustrated. Which is very understandable . I would of too. Good luck in the future and keep those posts coming. Karma.

P.s. If you don't mind me asking ? How is your father in-law doing. Never saw any updated posts about him.

Well thanks Smitty I really appreciate the comments on the tank. It really is a labor of love as you can see. ;D

Update on my stepdad, he pulled through the second surgery pretty well (first one didn't have the effect the doc's had hoped for) He's doing pretty well though and hopefully the cancer stays away!!!
