Well i bought my tang a little over a week ago and seemed to be doing very well swimming and active with the other fish. But I just now found him dead looked like the other fish where nipping at his fins I have a spotted gramma 2 oscar clowns and a lawnmower blenny. Also checked all my water parameters.

    S.G. 1.0255
    Ph 8.3
    Ammonia 0
    Nitrites 0
    Nitrates 0
    Phospahtes 0
    dkH 9
    Calcium 450
Turn over rate 69x in my 75 gallon

    Lighting times

    Antics 0600-2000
    10K/15K bulbs 0800-1800
    Led Moon lights 2000-0400

Cant think of any reason other then he couldn't adjust ? Should I check anything else?

Just the fins a bit where it looks like it had been nipped at but that could have happened after it was dead. Everything else was okay. I forgot to add that I was feeding myis shrimp every other day.

HOnestly it could have been nothing of your fault. was it eating? most tangs are very avid eaters. sometimes to the point that you feel you can never feed them enough or they may eat teh entire container.

Yes I was chowing done on the shrimp and the algae on the back glass maybe it was just his time :( lol I want a blonde naso or kole tang but not if this is going to happen. Could one of my coral poisoned him? I have zoas, yellow polyps encrusted orange monti, green pocllicapora, large devils hand.

the fish you have can be particularly agressive, territorial agression was most likely the problem, even a large fish enroaching on a small ones territory could be in for some trouble.

Had one die yesterday and you are going for another fish today? I would wait if it were me just to feel things out before adding more. Good luck.

Seriously, those fish in a 75 should not have been an issue in my experiences. did you ever notice the clowns chasing the tang?

if you have agressive fish it doesnt matter the tank size theyll still pick on newcomers.
