I am wondering how much of a flight risk these guys are? Will it try to jump out?

Probably not unless there are some aggresion issues with tankmates. That being said one thing i have learned; almost all fish have the potential of jumping.

He will be in QT so no chance of aggression unless he is dumb enough to fight his reflection in the glass. Maybe i will just make an eggcrate cover to be on the safe side.

I have one in my frag tank, he is on the smaller side, very timid but so far no jumping. Cool looking fish though.

I have one an yes they are aggressive but they keep the tank very clean!! I put a juvenile orange shoulder tang in thinking different species would be ok... Nope kole tang chased for a long while now they seem to tolerate each other. Adding fish is a crap shoot with even the tons of research. You just don't know.

Well i don't know what happened but he was good for a couple days and then died yesterday in QT. I drip acclimated him since that is how i have had the most success in the past but i couldn't get him to eat and then yesterday he stopped swimming and would kinda float around and then was dead when i got home from work last night. Pretty bummed about it, had been looking for one for quite a while and have no idea what went wrong.

Did you leave the lights out in the qt tank for 6-8 hours? Light can add more stress to a fish that's went through a lot of travel.

LOL Its not dumb. They are schooling fish and are looking for a friend.:)
Most fish will not eat right away.Sometimes it can take days.
    Sorry your friend passed.

I drip acclimated because i have only ever had success with that method. How should I acclimate a tang in the future? I really want to have one of these guys but I really, really don't want to watch another die.

I actually don't have a light for my QT but it does get ambient light from my sump, which it did get within 6-8 hours. Could this light situation have stressed it more? Should I have a regular light for the QT and make it so the sump light doesn't effect the QT? I am new to QTing my fish, this being my first attempt, and i feel i definitely did something wrong and definitely want to correct it.
