one way to get fish out of a tank with rock is with plexiglass
cut a piece that fits from the sand to the top backwards on an angle almost the width of the tank
also make 2 angled pieces that would fit inbetween the glass front and the plexiglass ( triangle shape )
put the first piece in and leave it so the fish get used to it
dont feed for a day or two
when you do feed turn off the pumps and place the food infront of the plexiglass
when the fish you want swims into the area to eat put the two outer pieces in and use a net
after pulling out what little hair i have left and many twelve packs with days of trying to get 1 fish out of my 150 gallon reef this idea came to me and worked

Oh hell no. Every tang I have had thus far, long term that is, has nipped at something in my tanks either causing death or causing enough harm that I had to remove the coral from my tank. Now it's not that they saw brains and just ate every brain, they seemed to just pick something at random. If there were two in the tank maybe the other would be spared for no visible reason.

This is why in the last few tanks I set up I would not add tangs. It sucks. I went with rabbitfish so we'll see how they work out long term.

I can't say that I've ever had a tang nip at corals but you can bet that I'll be keeping a closer eye on them now (assuming I still have a tank in the next few months on account of the bryopsis).

I have only one a purple to take a liking for clam ): he and the tiddy bowl man had a long boat ride together :) With a Kole I'd guess there is some type of flora taking hold on the coral.. Had one to do the same thing yrs ago thought he was eating at the coral.. I removed it then about a week later it was sprouting alage all over it's base.

I have or have had a White cheek, Orange Shoulder, Cheveron, Sailfin, and Naso and never once have I seen one of them nip at any coral

I think if they do it's a freak

I would fry it up and eat it before I flushed it LOL expecially at the cost of them anymore.
