Jason, dont jump so fast. I have had my Kole for about 2 weeks now and still not eating at feeding time, but he is not dead. It seems that they like to graze on the LR more than frozen and all that other man made process stuff. Just allow him his time. If he gets hungery he will eat. Make sure you have enought algae on your rock, sand and glass that he can graze.

Hang in there the Kole is a great looker.

I haven't seen the Tang in 5 days. I've pulled some rock appart but can't find the body. I'm certain it's gone.

are Kole tangs much pickier eaters than a powder blue tang? My PBT is a maniac when it comes to feeding time..and if I don't always have green seaweed in his veggie clip he gets mad...as soon as I walk up to the tank if that clip is empty..he is over there right by it waiting for it to be filled with more seaweed. My PBT also eats frozen brine spirulina enriched and non, live brine, prime reef flake, and formula 2 flake.

I had a Powder Brown Tang (see sig) and it was the same way.
I've seen many Koles that have done very well in tanks. I think I got one that was having difficulties ever before I got him.

What others are in it now? I simply love wrasses :D Ship poor, but good specimens are usually fairly easy to find. Blennies, gobies and pseudochromis ship very well and aren't over collected per say (some are, like yellow watchmen outa PI).

I currently have 3 chromis, Manderine Dragonett, Bicoloured Blenny.

I too love Wrasses and thought about getting one. I might hunt for a Cirrhilabrus solorensis or a Cirrhilabrus scottorum

Well Jason my Kole tang just joined yours up in the big sea in the sky. Woke up Sunday morning and he was just laying there all white. That is 2 tangs in one week other from a freak accident though.

When buying fish from a LFS what are the main things to look for?? I know to ask if they are eating, look at there fins for bites, check their breathing habbits and swimming. What else am i missing for this is not helping. I just started this tank on July 3rd and all ready have lost 5 chromies, a pacific blue tang, a powder blue tang, a kole (yellow eye) tang, and a diamond night watchman goby.
