So I just got a Koralia 4 that cycles 1200 gph and it is within spec according to Hydor but seems like a little much.

Im new to the hobby so maybe Im just not used to this kind of current.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this

    I'll upload a video in a minute

no it will be fine I would suggest multiple ones. the skimmer will be fine.

will you be adding corals to your tank?

Soft corals and hopefully a Rose Bubble Anemone as well for the clowns. I'm running compact fluorescents at 220 watts total so no hard corals in mind at the moment.

Also since the installation of the K4 it initially blew a bunch of junk around and a couple worms off the large white rock which is slowly dying back down. The two Clowns and the Blue/Green Chromis have been staying behind rocks or at the opposite end. Think they just need a little time to get used to the new pump?

Yea some of the immediate growth gets some pretty good current but I think I have it positioned fairly well using the rear wall and a large rock as a break water. When I fed them some shrimp i watched the movement and with the bio wheel and skimmer current and just one K4 seems to get a decent circulate motion.

Might want a K2 or K3 as a little extra power to return the water from the opposite side.
