The point where the power cord connects to the unit itself.. should that be closer to the surface or on the other side? (bottom)

Every photo I see of the koralias shows them placed opposite of the way I have them, but I don't see how to do this because the power cord would be in between the magnets and suction cup.

This is the first koralia I've ever owned so I don't really know what I'm doing.

    Thanks,
    Doratus

I really don't think it matters at all. I have mine aiming up because it give me a couple more inches of cord, and we all know a couple of inches really do matter when it comes to the not long enough cords that aquarium tank equipment comes with in general.

I also had the label aiming down at some point, since I didn't like to see it on the top, but coraline did it's job and covered it... slowly but steady.

Closer to the surface. The flow get forced down more if you place the cord down.

That isn't the issue here. The fact is that if I try to place the koralia in my tank the way the picture on the box shows then it just doesn't work because the cord is in the way.

Now that I know it's more of a matter of opinion it doesn't really matter anyway.

Thanks to all as always. :)

Well... actually, the Koralias have a part of the enclosure without any slits... this part goes towards the top, if the pump is close to the surface, or else you will have a vortex and air bubbles being blown into the water column. If the pump is deep enough, you eliminate the vortex issue so the cable can go up.

So, to sum it all up, if pump is close to the surface make sure the slit-less part is upwards, which in my case is in the opposite side of the cable. If the pump is deep enough you can put the cable anywhere you want.

    Hope it helps.

[STRIKE]So how do I make the slit side up? The cord is not very malleable.[/STRIKE]

Uh.. never mind. I figured it out. Yes that did help! :D

Funny thing is that I like the flow pattern better the way I had it originally. You live and learn sometimes. The one thing I constantly find myself saying in this hobby is "I should have just left it alone".
