They are the same length as the old Koralias and 1" diameter bigger.

And Daniel. I haven't heard them first hand but people are saying they are dead silent on startup unlike the K1-4s. People are using them on wavemakers.

NO CHATTERING on a controller! by ALAN FLOJO

Comments: I purchased a pair of K5’s at the MAX ’09 Hydor Koralia booth. Not more than 2 weeks prior, I purchased a pair of K4’s, but then later heard rumors that the K5-8’s have been working on wavemaker modes via controllers. I verified this with the Hydor rep who showed me several design improvements that help them run without the destructive startup chatter. First, there’s built in electronics in these pumps to assist with softer startup. Second, there’s no pin shaft to fatigue and shear off. The magnetic rotor itself makes up the shaft. Third, there’s a beefy guide bushing located behind the magnetic rotor that effectively reduces vibrations. Finally, a removable guide brace on the front of the rotor assembly secures everything in place. The brace design looks like it also serves to further offset some of the start up torque. These parts are easily removable for periodic maintenance. I hope they’ll be made available as replaceable components. I have them plugged into an ACjr, wavemaker programmed to alternately turn on/off, and am pleased to report there has been NO STARTUP CHATTERING whatsoever. These pumps are vitually silent and generate a broader flow pattern than the K4’s. The K4’s seemed to generate flow in a V-like pattern. To top it off these new pumps use less power than lower flow ones. The only down side is that they are noticeably much bigger...in fact, they're huge. Also, I should have probably gone with the next size up. I think that's common advice offered in reviews for the older models. So far, I’m very pleased with these pumps. I’ve only been running them for a week, but if they stop working Hydor Koralia covers them under warranty for 2 years. Finally, high flow powerheads (other than MJ mods) that actually work on controllers! Spread the word. Nice job Hydor Koralia.

good write up. I may have to look into these myself as I have a wavemaker not being used.
