I have #1, #3, & #4's. I have the 1 & 3's in my 85 hex and the #1 work great for low flow power close to the bottom so it doesnt disturb the sand, but still gets flow in the back bottom of tank. I think its rated at 400 gph, its weak and you can only feel it a few inches away. Sure not for a main power head. But good for things that like very low flow.

I just take them out every other month or so and clean them good and put them back in. The higher your alk and Cal the sooner they need to be cleaned.

Also, what are you planning on keeping in the tank?

I was just looking at the flow rates on the koralias and if I was to get a 75 and use koralias I think I would probably go with 3 #5's to keep SPS (although for that much money and the 4-way controller I could probably almost do 2 vortech MP40s).

I had 2 K3s in my 40g - worked great. Then i bought 2 K4s and added them along with my K3s to my new 160g. The K3s were MUCH better built that my K4s. I'm having big problems with the bar in the middle of the K4 coming loose from the front of the powerhead and jamming the powerhead. I think the old koralias were built with better grade plastic than the new ones. I don't know if i'd buy them again. If I did, I would go with the newer ones that are compatible with wavemakers. They make both types now, ones that are, and ones that arent. If you're running a wavemaker, ensure that you're getting the appropriate powerheads. I would get the koralia 4s or 3 or 4 K3s. I <3 flow if you can't tell. I believe it's one of the most important aspects of the tank other than parameters.

I like my single #4 in my 46 bowfront, I need to get another one to replace the maxijet 900 i have in there...or better yet add a koralia 4 and use the cheap prop mod kit on the maxijet...I agree about flow, I have a good bit and still want more...better to have more then less...

I use 3 # 2 's in my 72 gal bow front and love them. They get good flow without the hard jetstream like my old powerheads. My corals started opening up alot better.

I know that i go against the flow by saying this however i am very dissapointed with the ones i purchased. I believed the hype and now wish that i had just stuck with the maxi jets that i am used to for my nano.

The koralia powerheads seem to be very very cheaply made and well i just dont like them. I will be replacing them with maxijets soon and throwing them in the trash where i feel they belong.

IMO, you can't go wrong with the Koralias. I have two K-3s in my 90 and am planning on getting two more to bring my flow up to speed. I use a K-nano in my 10g and am getting another, it works so well. The comment about getting a size bigger than you think you need is valid. K+ to Matty. It is a good idea.
