I am about to order my return pump and powerheads and wanted a few opinions before hitting the order button. Do you think 2 Koralia 4s would be too much for a 65g mixed reef?

    Thanks.

Put two K4 in two different timers - one on, one off. Perfect for 36" 65.

That is kind of what I was thinking. 2 K4s on a JBJ Ocean Pulse.

You may want to look at the new Koralia Evolutions. Much smaller and are designed to work on wavemakers where the normal K series are not. I tried K3's and K4's on my Reefkeeper and they rattled like crazy, I took them off the controller in just a few days.
I now have two of the Sicce Voyager #3's and hope to try some new Evolutions soon too, the Voyagers have been totally silent for a month now on 1 minute switching intervals.

I agree, get two or three evo 1400's and put them on timers, I have three and only two are ever on at once, it creates a nice changing flow in the tank.

It also depends on what you want to keep. If you want to keep SPS then I say definitly have 3 1400's, if its mixed then either 2 or 3, if it's mostly softies, LPS and zoas, then just two would be fine.

I ended up going with just two regular K4s...found a deal I did not want to pass up. Both shipped for under $80.

Now I just need to figure out what I want to use for a return pump. I am thinking either a Quiet One 3000 or a Mag7. Any opinions?

I have read about some ways to quiet the regular Koralias and I am going to give that a try. Two evo1400's (i think I want a little more then the 1050) would have been $125 shipped from marinedepot.
