    The "guard" works to concentrate the flow more than "guard". It makes the high flow more direct as opposed wild and chaotic. great if you need stronger flow across say a bed of Zoa's or a Galaxia.

    I didn't realize it was a guard I thought it was a focus. On a sdi note I've got a 4 and a 3 in my tank plus well over 100 snails and have had no problems
