I have two 1050's evos and a 400 hk. I have zero issue with vibration. I realize you are saying it comes from the acrylic, but I am wondering if something is out of balance with the prop or shaft that is making it vibrate more than normal.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

The rep at HK told me it was the relatively thin acrylic (3/8") for my size aquarium (150 gal) that's the problem. He said it's not rigid enough and as Bustopher said, it amplifies the vibration.

If I remove the PH from the mount and hold it in the water, they are silent, but I can feel a high frquency "hum", which didn't seem excessive. If it is something out of alignment, then it's on 4 out of 4.

Anyone else ran into this with 3/8" acrylic? Any other thoughts on how to dampen it? I tried 7/16" foam rubber weather stripping in place of the factory rubber feet with no real improvement. :-[

Replacing the feet will only stop the transfer from the tank to the stand. Still have the tank wall acting as a transducer/speaker. Have to put something on the walls that hold the power heads. Problem is you can't dynamat your tank lol.

    For sure.

My problem is that these are the first PH's I've ever purchased, so I have nothing to compare them too. Maybe this noise level is normal. :) When I stand next to the tank, it sounds like I've got a couple of large air pumps sitting on top of the tank.

I don't think it would make a happy fish environment.

My next step is to try something like a microfilter pad between the magnet mount and the glass and hope that the external magnet can hold it in place.
