Korallin Calcium Reactor 1502 Package 2 Help

I just bought this calcium reactor, and to be honest the directions, to be blunt, suck... talks about after i set up the tubing to where it needs to go, after filing the reactor with media, turning on my Co2 tank but not the pump...and it will syphon water in? Umm yea just need some clarification on if what i plan to do instead is a good idea..take a look at the set up below and ill explain after..







In the second pic it looks like there is water inside the reactor..this is correct, except i opened the lid and put water inside lol...




Ok, in the last picture showing the top of my calcium reactor youll see the
Output on the left and the input on the right, behind the both of those is the pump that it came with..the problem is the water getting to the reactor..i plan on getting some longer tubing to put the pump into the water and still routing the same lines..is this idea plausable? or is there something better i can do..btw the pump i have is a universal Eheim pump..Thanks in advance ;D
